I remember an after school show that introduced cartoons with a woman named MaryAnn & a puppet raindeer. they also read letters & so did Santa. the show gave away a bike with a jingle something like "win a bike for your favorite tyke because holiday helpers care" & you could sign up at Walgreens I believe. MaryAnn or a man's voice would also do the commercials for the sponsor Ronco products (found at Walgreens, Sear, etc). I don't remember what channel it was on, but I am 50 now so it was during the 60's. not sure if the show had a name. I'd like to see a clip of those shows

Windy and Mary Ann aired on WKYT in the 1960s and was hosted by Mary Ann Kuykendall. Windy Wonderful was a horse puppet whose voice was supplied by Henry Allin who was a news anchor at channel 27.

There was an afternoon children's program called Mary Antics. I was a guest on her show once at age 5 or 6 (1965/6) if I remember correctly. I would be thrilled to get a copy of that show if it exists somewhere. Does anyone else remember the Mary Antics show?

Stephanie, "Mary Antics" aired on WKYT in the late 60's and was hosted by Mary Ann Kuykendall who was also seen on "Windy and Mary Ann." She also was seen on programs featuring letters to Santa on WKYT in the 1970s. Unfortunately Stephanie, you won't find any recordings from the sixties from channel 27. We couldn't even guarantee they would have much from the '80's. You have to remember that the networks were erasing most of their broadcasts in the '60's so you can imagine what local stations were doing. Plus, most of these local programs were done "live" and never taped to begin with. Channel 27 was using film at that time and a majority of their broadcasts were "live." Wow...thanks for rekindling my Windy Wonderful and Mary Ann memories.I recall watching fairly religiously as a kid.I must have been really young 'cause it never registered with me what a cutie Mary Ann was. I have a very fragmented memory of one of the local kid shows running a story line about a "Moon Maid" who would appear on the show. She would always sing her little theme song("Moon maid, they call me Moon Maid...")as she walked set.Was that on WW&MA? I think I remember a show with Wayne Bell playing a Sheriff assisted by a deputy.Am I dreaming this up?

No, you're not dreaming it up -- "Shorty" Stout was the host of a channel 18 children's show that aired weekdays around 5 p.m. I have some more information on the Wayne Bell/"Shorty" Stout shows that I need to dig up, but I've just moved to the Denver area and it's buried in a box somewhere. I'll try to dig it out shortly and post the information.

Jeff, after hanging onto a memory for decades, it begins to feel like a dream, especially if another human being does not confirm what you remember. That's why we are here, so you'll know you are not going crazy. Jeff, you are referring to a show that was known as "Cousin Wayne and the Bunkhouse," a western program that aired on WLEX, hosted by Wayne Bell, who also did news, weather, and sports at the station back in the day when the on air talent did about everything. Cousin Wayne appeared on a set that resembled a western bunkhouse with a real set of bunks. He showed those good ole shoot-em-up westerns. We look forward to hearing more facts from John on this classic kid's show.
John also mentioned another program that was opposite Windy Wonderful at WKYT which was known as The Shorty Stout Show on WLEX, hosted by H. H. Stout, a singing cowboy who played the guitar while showing slapstick comedies. Stout was dressed in a cowboy outfit with guns on his side. (The guns would obviously not be included in a kid's show these days). Every Friday they would have a birthday party on the show with lots of kids.
Wayne Bell is still around Lexington. Sadly, H.H. "Shorty" Stout died in 1996 at age 77.

I loved this show. I remember my Granny sometimes cared for myself and other cousins while parents worked or were doing other things. I remember my Cousin Donna Jean and I would watch Windy and then go out in the back yard to play I was Windy and she was Mary Ann. I would get down on my hands and knees and say to her "Mary Ann pat poor old Windy on the snoot" then she would rub my nose and my Granny would crack up. Ahhh Those were the days. We watched from Richmond, Ky and I loved when Santa was on reading letters as well.

I was on the show for my 5th or 6th birthday. I got to pet the "horse" and said his blaze felt like paint which I am sure it was.

My fractured memory believes Windy’s nose was brown crushed velvet glued on to a wood-like form. Certain sections of the cloth were then painted over for the blaze marking.

Mary Ann (Windy Wonderful) is my Mother in Law and she's still a compassionate and wonderful soul, going strong. I'm definitely blessed to have the true Windy Wonderful in my life. I'm glad to pass on email from her fans. Link --> Mary Ann

What's up guys! I am aiming to extract some night-relevant B2B leads for our B2B division of our web-based vape store. Has anyone ever worked with the Yoggys Money Vault Email Harvester for scraping B2B Leads? Would you recommend it?
