As a child growing up in the '70s, I remember turning on Channel 27 as it began each days' broadcast and watching the man and little boy walking through what looked like some kind of park. Occasionally I will hear that instrumental on the radio and my mind instantly goes back to that time! I always wondered why the announcer sort of chuckled at the end when he said to "get ready for the finest in TV broadcasting"? I have no idea why I remember that, but it always brings a smile to my face! Does anyone know if this footage still exists? I would love to see it on YouTube!!

OK....if it helps to jog anyone's memory, the music for this clip was Duane Eddy's "Because They're Young" which I did manage to find on YouTube. Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers this!

I'm afraid you're right. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure why I remember it myself...it was just some video of a man and a little boy walking through this park with this really catchy music playing, while the announcer tells about Channel 27's output power, location, etc. It's funny some of the things you remember from your childhood!!

I remember it too.
Used to catch it, getting up early for school. My parents probably were the only folks who watched the CBS Morning News (w Joseph Benti & John Hart) between 7 and 8, rather than the Today Show.
The footage was shot around Lexington, but I can't remember whether the voiceover was Ray Holbrook or Chuck Ham
