I remember Dale Wright: he had a morning show that my grandma and I used to watch before she went to work. I remember part of the opening song was, "There's a Wright way and a wrong way..."

I found a link to an old TV Guide from 1970 that listed Dale Wright's early afternoon TV show on WBLG -- so his TV show was on by 1970 but I remember it didn't last too long after that.

John, I remember Dale Wright's TV show vividly because I was actually on it once! I had a big brother through "Big Brothers/Little Brothers" when I was a kid, and because of that I was a guest along with the BB/LB of Lexington director. There may have been a BB as a guest as well, but not my BB. I even met Miss Jan from Romper Room! She was even better looking in person than on TV! Yep, I noticed even then! I wish I had a tape of that show.

I asked WTVQ's station manager about the archive status of HAPPY'S HOUR. Unfortunately, he confirmed what I already suspected: no complete episodes exist in TVQ's archives. Pretty much all that is known to exist is the footage that appears in the DVD documentary WHEN HAPPY MET FROGGIE (much of which I suspect to be VHS or Beta home recordings, though the ending moments of the very last episode appear to possibly be original footage, likely on U-matic, since there is no voice-over on the end credit music. I'd guess the fact it was the very last show might explain what that bit survived.

My mom listened to Dale Wright every afternoon on both WBLG (Lexington) and then on WNVL (Nicholasville) after he got booted from WBLG. He had a call in show on WBLG called "PM Opinion." At some point, I believe in the mid 70's, I remember the station decided to change formats and do away with his "PM Opinion" show. So, he, along with another personality from the station barricaded themselves in the station against the management's wishes and kept the program going until late in the night so all their listeners could call in and express their complaints over the air that the management was taking the program off. At one point that night the situation even made national news on whatever network WBLG had at the time. They eventually persuaded the management to keep the show running but it was only for a short while and then all the sudden Dale Wright was no longer on WBLG and had moved his show to WNVL. I believe he was there till the early-mid 90's best I remember.

I appeared on this show weekly with Lanny Rogers band. Would like to know if you or anyone might know how or where to get video of this show that aired on 62 in the early 70s or late 60s every Saturday. Thanks, Vata Clark (now Gillispie)
