For years I've been looking for TV Guides on microfilm for Lexington, Kentucky, Cincinnati Ohio. I have contacted libraries in Kentucky and Ohio with no luck. Surely this part of local television history has been preserved somewhere. If not, so much has been lost in the history of TV. I can't believe a TV station did not save these. It is their history. With a majority of the videos and films of actual broadcast lost forever, TV Guide is all there is left to document what was actually shown, who was on the air and so on. Many TV Guides across the nation have been preserved on microfilm. But so far I've not been able to track down those for the Louisville, Lexington, Kentucky and Cincinnati areas. You would think that TV Guides for such large cities as Louisville and Cincinnati would have been preserved. Anyone have any ideas?

I totally agree with you. I would love to see some Lexington TV Guides from the 1960s.
I know the M. I. King Library at the University of Kentucky was given old news footage from some of the Lexington and Louisville TV stations. Not sure if the UK library would also have some of the TV Guides or other schedule information. Just a thought

Just popped on here to see what was going on and saw this mention.
You might try some of the libraries in the Dayton, Ohio area. I remember using a couple there back in the late 1980s for a project and going through old TV Guides in this manner. Dayton may have been Northeast of Cincy, but they covered all the local networks (5, 9 & 12) as well as Channel 48 & Channel 19 as a lot of us in the area could pick up the signal pretty well.
I used to have TV Guides from 1973 on through 1990 in a couple of boxes that I collected from when I was a kid up through college. During one long move to Louisville, I was so wiped out from filling the moving van that I plain forgot about the TV Guides. The new owners of the house threw them all out. I wish I had them now.

I recently came across a good amount of TV Guides ranging from the late 50's many from the 60's and even a few from the 70's. All from the Lexington, Louisville KY viewing area. I would like to scan them and place them on a website so others may enjoy them as I do. I feel that would be a great hobby however I don't know if I need permission from TV Guide to do that as there may be copyright problems with it. I sent them a message on TVGuide.com but they never responded. Anyone have any suggestions where I should ask permission to do this?
I also have a box of TV Guides from other areas but I grew up with Lexington TV in the 60's so I collect these TV Guides.
