I miss TV Guide - the handiness of it - the size of the magazine. It use to be a must and it fit perfectly on top of the TV or on a table nearby. Sometime over the years it died. They still sell it, but it is now a cumbersome magazine and looks more like the National Enquirer - filled with stories and satellite listings. Remember - back in the day - TV Guide was really localized with ads for the local stations. There are no longer local ads. I wondered when that stopped. I was looking at a TV Guide tonight from 1996 and even by then the local ads were gone. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAscR5pwolU

TV Guide abandoned its local listings and went to its "new" format in the autumn of 2006.

Sorry, I'm correcting my previous post -- TV Guide abandoned their local listings in the autumn of 2005, not 2006.

I started saving my Fall Special that listed all the new shows when I was in school at Murray mid 70's. With ebay and flea markets I got the mid 60's issues and up. Really regret I never saved any Lexington area issues....
